Research Steps
1. Ask questions. What do you want to learn? What questions do you have? What is your assignment? What are the keywords that will help you get to the answers?
2. Find answers. What sources can you use? What sources will give you accurate and current information?
3. Read first to explore. Build your knowledge of your topic. Evaluate your source, does it answer your questions? Do you understand the information? How do you evaluate a website?
4. Read a second time to understand. Can you picture the information in your mind? Can you explain your topic to a friend?
5. Write notes on the important details. Don't plagiarize! Follow the 3Bs of note-taking: Bullets, Brief and By you.
6. Write a bibliography. Give credit to your sources. Follow the format exactly.
